morning after

Last night was a messy, fantastic experiment in fun!

We wound up combining our show with the fabulous Brooklyn Comedy Company'sI Can't Believe It's Not Manhattan! which was supposed to be going one simultaneously in the back room. The result was a super-silly, side-splitting show that seemed to make everyone in the audience laugh their asses off. We abandoned the competition aspect of the show as we wound up with 12 performers total but I still managed to give each performer their individually picked prizes straight from Brooklyn's finest 99 cents stores. Among the items given; paper flamingo centerpiece, furry dice and an "I Love Ashton" trucker hat.

I realized as I assisted Nathan on stage during his performance that this was the first time I've produced a show that I wasn't actually a part of myself. It was an odd feeling but even weirder was being on stage without opening my big mouth. In the end though, I left feeling really proud of the whole evening. Perhaps a career in poetry/comedy producing is in my future?!

Afterwards, I was able to get some heavy flirting done at The Abbey and played the hand equivalent of footsie - is it called handsie? It was fun either way!

And Nathan played DJ on the juke box and managed to offend the bartender by playing too many Beatles songs. We didn't like the bartender.
