weekend

Finally picked up the Park Slope Reader which contains the interview I did back in June about ATOMIC. It's a nice little article and they ran a picture of me sitting in the back of Lucky 13 Saloon.

Saturday I saw two great shows. In the afternoon I saw Kathleen Warnock's play Grieving for Genevieve. It's a domectic drama about a family of women. The three sisters include a much-married seasmtress of stripper fashions, a drinking-smoking-cursing nun, and a asthmatic lesbian guitar repairwoman. The mother is an overbearing, manipultive non-stop smoker and lover of Flea Markets. I won't give away the plot here, but there is some great dialogue one of the daugheters pleads, "but I'm a proefessional seamstress!" to which the mother answers, "I gave you life!"

Afterwards, I headed over to the East Village to catch Jenn Lindsay's first NYC gig in a while. Jenn really rocked, as usual, and we chatted briefly following the show and I was happy to find out she's back in town for good.

Yesterday, I spent the day with N. We went to see March of the Penguins which I thought was really beautiful and the baby penguins sure are adorable. Then we came back to my house and watched Million Dollar Baby, which I managed to miss when it was in the theater. We ordered pizza and I woke up in the middle of the night feeling like I was choking with a burning pain in my chest. N thought I probably had acid reflux, which has never happened to me before. It's pretty much gone now, but I still feel a little weird.

I have today and tomorrow off. Tonight is the OGC and later today my air-conditioner will be delivered - I expect massive improvement in my home productivity.
