about last night

I'm part of a group called All Girl Action. We're dedicated to putting together fabulous parties for LGBTQ women in publshing and the literary arts.

Last night, we had a reception for novelist Sarah Waters, who was in town with her latest book The Night Watch. The party was a HUGE success. Over 120 women attended the soiree held at an absolutely gorgoeus private home in Chelsea. I am biased of course, but it was THE PLACE TO BE.

Ms. Waters is one of my favorite writers. And she was very lovely and gracious. For me, this was sort of the literary equivalent of meeting The Beatles.
