the winner is...

Remember that literary contest I was judging this past Winter? Well, it was for the Edmund White Award for Debut Fiction from the Publishing Triangle. The awards were given out in a ceremony at The New School last night. The winner was Mack Friedman for his novel Setting the Lawn on Fire. The other nominees were Choir Boy by Charlie Anders and Crashing America by Katia Noyes. All three are really fantastic books and I was really proud to be a part of the selection process.

My good friend and fabulous playwright Kathleen Warnock won the Robert Chesley Playwriting Award. Congrats Kathleen!

Go to the Publishing Triangle website for a full list of winners and nominess.

Just blogslutting as a friend of mine puts it. Not sure how I got here but I enjoyed it nonetheless. I particularly enjoyed your "What not to do on a third date" poem. Sorry to hear about your cat though.

Sounds like you have a hectic but exciting life.

Hope I survive moderation, it sounds painful!!
