My 70's Week

Last week I read Please Kill Me: The Uncensored Oral History of Punk by Legs McNeil and Gillian McCain. Then last night I went to see the Disco Years exhibit at the Powerhouse Arena in DUMBO.

Between the two, I feel like I got a full education on the 1970's in NYC and the somewhat overlapping worlds of Punk and Disco. I was bit obsessed with The Velvet Underground and the Factory scene when in high school so I already had some knowledge on the subjects, but I feel like this past week really filled in all the gaps. I wrote a bit about Disco Years for UM, should be up tomorrow. Both were awesome, I highly recommend.
