440

Enjoyed the reading at 440 Gallery Sunday evening. The other two readers were Kate Hall, who is an engaging and prolific writer in many genres and an incredibly mesmerizing poet named Liesl, whose last name escapes me. They both rocked.

440 is great little gallery currently showing a series of paintings by Shanee Epstein, who gave a talk about her work before the show. I'm always curious about the creative proceses of artists working in other mediums.

Today's Small Accomplishment

I solved the case of the missing blog logo and fixed it all by myself. Sometimes it's the little things that make you proud.

Earlier tonight, I met up with my friend N and attended the opening of the Women's Work exhibit at the Tabla Rasa Gallery. We were impressed with the selected art work and I particularly enjoyed a painting called "Psychodrama Mama" by Audrey Ansastasi featuring a very judgmental-looking older woman - a mom - and the reflection of a younger woman - a daughter - in the mirror next to her. They both have their arms folded across their chests and tense looks on their faces. I've lived that painting, so real.
