the saga continues...

I picked up Sabrina's ashes tonight.

They were given to me in a metal canister wrapped in green tissue paper and packed in a matching gift bag. Also included were a condolence card and a certificate stating that she'd been individually cremated at a pet memorial park. It was like receiving a creepy birthday gift. A pamphlet, in dire need of copyediting, was in the bag as well. The pamphlet outlines their pet cementary services including burials, "estate" plots for show dogs, a variety of caskets and headstones. Grim stuff and a bit over the top in my opinion.

I guess I should get some sort of urn or box to keep her ashes in. I've never dealt with this kind of thing before and I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do. Of course I started crying again on the bus ride home. Not sure when it will stop. Once again, my giant sunglasses came to the rescue.
